Welcome to Rise Early Learning Camperdown

Our Centre

Our Camperdown service is an adaptive reuse of an Inner West warehouse. It has created an oasis for young children to explore, imagine and inquire through our play-based learning philosophy.

2015 NSW Architecture Awards winner in the Educational category
The project was also shortlisted in the Sustainability category and nominated for the NSW Premier’s Prize.

Winner of the 2014 Sydney Design Awards

The Camperdown Difference

Nature Play
There is overwhelming evidence that a child’s wellbeing benefits greatly from natural and outdoor play spaces.

Our simulated outdoor learning environments provide children with opportunities to learn about sustainability and engage in nature play. Our program also includes exploring nearby National Parks and Community Gardens.

Life Skills
A large part of our daily learning in the classroom focuses on supporting the children in their development of practical life skills.

Our Life Skills Program extends upon this embedded practice by providing children with opportunities to engage in food, science and cooking experiences, as well as visiting the local farmer’s markets. We also focus on foundational Literacy, Numeracy and Creative arts skills to ensure a smooth transition to school.

Cultural Appreciation
Our Cultural and Community Appreciation Program supports children’s developing sense of identity and builds upon their growing understanding of their place within their community.

Through music, dance, and creative arts, we encourage children to communicate, problem-solve, and develop social and emotional skills. We provide Spanish language classes hosted by a qualified language organisation and children are able to engage in experiences beyond the centre, building connections to their diverse community.

Mind and Body
Our Mind and Body Program includes multi-sports classes provided by a qualified sports coach and athletic fun outside the classroom.

Freedom of movement and providing children with regular opportunities to engage in age and developmentally appropriate guided experiences supports their physical, social, emotional & cognitive development. Nutrition is essential for optimal brain development, physical growth and in preparing children for formal schooling and adult years. Our chefs prepare all meals using seasonal ingredients to meet the Caring for Children (Birth – 5 years) dietary guidelines.
